Removes tiny iron particles from clearcoat to keep them from rusting thru the clearcoat and causing the paint underneath to begin rusting due to contact over time.  Iron remover is part of the Chemical Decontamination process and is required for Clay Bar Treatment and Paint Correction.

Removes surface level particles and contaminants from the clearcoar finish.  It is very gentle but is extremely effective at removing certain contaminates. Gives your car back the smooth, glossy, "glass-like" finish it had when it left the factory.  Clay Bar Treatment is required for Paint Correction.

This could be the 1st and final step if polishing the finish is the objective.  Could also be the 1st of 2 steps when buffing out scratches that are deeper than surface level and followed up with a 2nd step which would be a final polishing step.  This is the process referred to as "mechanical decontamination"
